This application is a FTP-Client that will run just fine on Windows 95 and 98, ME, NT4, 2000 and XP. Take into account that Windows Vista is not supported yet.
If you have used the Windows built-in FTP-Client you may want to know this tool better, preety easy to use and efective.
Even when you can access to this client for free – with the sponsored version available – you will be provided with many of the features of advanced or professional tools of this kind. Let's take a look to a brief list of them:

Ability to resume Uploads/Downloads (if the server supports it)
Custom Commands
Site Manager with folders
Keep Alive system
Timeout detection
Firewall support
SOCKS4/5 and HTTP1.1 Proxy support
SSL secured connections
SFTP support
Upload/Download Queue
Drag&Drop
GSS authentication and encryption using Kerberos

The interface of this piece of software is a little bit more complicated than Software 995 – the developer – have us used to, but it's because this is a more complex tool itself. One thing on the good size of it it's that you have access to the help information directly from the software, no need to Internet conection. Indeed, it is recommended that you go first to the “Quick Guide” that will provide you with a short overview of how to use FTP995.
What you will see is one main window divided into a few sections. On the left side it displays the files and folders of your PC and on the right side the files and folder of the FTP site. A main menu and toolbar is found at the top of the windows. From there you can access to various additional functions of FTP. In the middle section of the window there's a list of action that have been taken on the client. Below that, the Transfer Queue view will be found, showing the list of files to upload and download and the progress of the transactions.
So, what are the menu options? Let's see:
File menu – It access to some general operations and Sitemanager functions.
Edit menu - Three options available, all them regarding to settings of the client.
Transfer menu – It allows you to control the files transfer process.
View menu – It allows you to control the aspect of the main window.
Queue menu – Controls tasks regarding to the queue.
Server menu – You can set the password for the server, copy an URL location to clipboard and enter commands into a command window.

Another big advantage SRWare Iron has over Google Chrome: It places its executable (EXE) file in Program Files where it belongs. Chrome stupidly puts its EXE elsewhere.
